What are Cracking Tubes?

Cracking tubes are commonly used in oil refining and chemical processes and used as a device in catalytic cracking or thermal cracking processes. Through the action of high temperature and catalyst, polymer chain compounds are decomposed into low molecular chain compounds to obtain higher value products.

Application of Cracking Tubes:

◆ Refining industry:

In refineries, they are used for catalytic cracking of heavy petroleum raw materials. This cracking process decomposes heavier petroleum molecules into lighter molecules, such as gasoline, diesel, and liquefied petroleum gas. These lightweight products are widely used in the automotive fuel and chemical industries.

◆ Petrochemical industry:

They are used in the petrochemical industry to produce important petrochemical raw materials such as ethylene and propylene. By cracking light hydrocarbons, these chemicals widely used in fields such as plastics, rubber, and synthetic fibers can be obtained.

◆ Bioenergy industry:

In the process of converting biomass into energy, it also plays a key role. Biomass cracking can convert organic waste, crop residues, etc. into renewable energy, such as biodiesel or natural gas.

◆ Chemical industry:

It is also used to produce various chemicals, such as ammonia, methanol, benzene, etc. Cracking heterocyclic compounds can produce a single chemical substance to meet the needs of different industries.

Materials of Cracking Tubes:

Cracking tubes require the use of special materials to cope with harsh working conditions such as high temperature, high pressure, and corrosion. The following are some common materials:

◆ High-temperature alloys:

such as nickel-based alloys (such as Inconel and Hastelloy), molybdenum alloys (such as TZM alloy), and chromium alloys (such as Stainless steel), which have good high-temperature strength, corrosion resistance, and oxidation resistance.

◆ Ceramic materials:

Ceramic materials such as alumina, silicon nitride, and silicon carbide have excellent high-temperature and corrosion resistance, suitable for extreme working environments.

◆ Steel:

In some cases, special alloy steel, such as heat-resistant steel and stainless steel, can be used to meet high temperature and corrosion requirements.

◆ Carbon fiber composite materials:

For some special needs, such as the cracking process under ultra-high temperature and high-pressure conditions, carbon fiber composite materials can be used, which are favored for their lightweight, high strength, and excellent heat resistance.

When selecting the material, it is necessary to consider factors such as working conditions, the properties of the reaction medium, and the expected cracking process pressure and temperature. The appropriate material selection can ensure the reliability, durability, and safety of the cracking tube while meeting the requirements of product quality and production efficiency.
